The Representative Office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Macao was unveiled on April 13.
The Macao office, registered as CCPIT Macao Co., Ltd., will take the advantage of CCPIT in exhibition, forum, trade arbitration, commercial mediation and consultation to expand services in these fields, in a bid to promote economic and trade cooperation between Macao and Chinese mainland.
The office was unveiled at the Chinese Mainland-Macao Industry and Commerce Exchange Seminar, which aimed at enhancing exchanges between the business communities of both sides.
CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi noted, CCPIT has long been dedicated to promoting communication and business exchanges between the Chinese mainland and Macao. CCPIT’s office in Macao will conduct extensive links with Macao’s business community, assist enterprises of both sides to jointly explore the markets of Portuguese-speaking countries and help Macao companies with the Belt and Road construction and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area cooperation, which will contribute to the economic transformation and diversified development of Macao.
Wang Xindong, Secretary General of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao also said, the establishment of CCPIT’s representative office is an important step in fostering economic and trade exchanges between Macao and Chinese mainland.
More than 100 people, including business delegates of Chinese mainland and Macao, five chambers of commerce of Macao, and reporters attended the seminar.
