China and Qatar agreed to foster cooperation between enterprises of both sides.
Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Jiang Zengwei and Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber Muhammed Bin Ahmed Bin Towar Al Kuwari made the agreement as they were attending the Qatar-China Business Forum in Doha on March 25.
Jiang Zengwei hailed the friendly relations and the complementary economies between China and Qatar, which have portrayed broad prospects for the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Jiang also praised that China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Qatar’s Vision 2030 are highly compatible with each other. Jiang made four proposals for further cooperation.
“First, we need to further energy cooperation. Second, we will deepen cooperation in infrastructure construction. Third, both sides need to explore cooperation in technological innovation. Last but not least, we need to speed up cooperation in finance. CCPIT is willing to work with Qatar Chamber to provide more services and supports for enterprises of both sides,” added Jiang.
Al Kuwari said, Qatar bears abundant natural resources and advantageous location. For a long period of time, the country is dedicated to achieving polarized development of its economy. Qatari government and business community are supporting Belt and Road Initiative, willing to deepen cooperation with Chinese companies in a bid to achieve common development.
More than 50 Chinese delegates were in attendance.
