China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) announced that the 14th China Expo Forum for International Cooperation (CEFCO), on the theme of “Embracing Changes”, is scheduled from January 11 to 13, 2018 in Qingdao, Shandong Province.

More than 600 elites and businessmen from global exhibition industry will discuss the changes in the layout of the industry and investment highlights in the process of the global economic recovery. In addition, the forum will also make attempts at the modes of "Exhibition + Transformation", and "Exhibition + Industry" to achieve the innovation in exhibition subject and content.
CCPIT has long been committed to promoting the development of China’s exhibition economy, and established CEFCO in 2005. Over the past decade, by upholding the principles of “openness, cooperation and win-win”, CCPIT has rendered CEFCO one of the world's three largest professional exhibition forums. It is also an indispensable annual event for the international exhibition industry community. CEFCO plays an important role in spreading the global influence of China’s exhibition industry, promoting Chinese exhibitions to “go global” and bringing international ones into China, as well as enhancing the exchanges of the peers at home and abroad.
Feng Yaoxiang noted, exhibition industry is an important platform for the establishment of modern market system and an open economy, playing an increasingly prominent role in economic and social development and opening up. To prepare the forum, CCPIT has created a new mode of hosting exhibitions, improved services, and enriched participant experience. Specifically, CEFCO 2018 has three highlights.

With the theme“Embracing Changes”, the forum will invite well-known exhibition enterprises at home and abroad, organizations, professional medias, research institutes and representatives from competent authorities of exhibition industry to discuss changes in the layout of the industry and investment highlights in the process of the global economic recovery, the role of trade promotion agencies in promoting the exhibition industry, venue construction and management as well as the development of exhibition city.
Second, there are a wide range of representatives who are willing to cooperate. It is expected that the forum will attract more than 600 global exhibition industry elites and businessmen. At present, nearly 300 participants get registered, among which there are celebrities in the industry. Apart from the elites, there are participants from 16 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, etc. Unlike the previous forums, many overseas representatives come from enterprises with operation experience. They hope to establish contacts with China through CEFCO and achieve practical cooperation.
Third, the forum has been richly arranged. During the 3-day forum, more than 20 events will be held, in a variety of types, including four plenary meetings, six group meetings, and several topic lectures, conferences, project promotion and other events. In addition, the forum attempts at introducing new modes such as “Exhibition + transformation” to discuss how to make exhibition subject and content comply with the diversity of increased social demands. The “Exhibition + industry” mode, by which successful cases of mutual promotion of exhibition and industry will be mutually promoted, will be shared by some famous exhibition organizers.
Vice Chairman of CCPIT Qingdao Sub-Council Tang Xuyan noted, the forum will invite relevant local government departments and enterprises, improving management level and enterprises’ capacity of hosting exhibitions and meetings. Meanwhile, the forum will introduce more projects from abroad. Institution and project cooperation and several agreements will be signed during the forum, which will boost cooperation between Qingdao and institutions at home and abroad. Tang added, the social, cultural and city elements of Qingdao will be intermingled into CEFCO 2018. Participants will have chance to get a glimpse of the coastal city and experience Qingdao’s top-quality environment for exhibitions.
