A promotion reception for the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing was held in Suva, Fiji on July 28.
The reception, jointly hosted by CCPIT, China Flower Association and Municipal Government of Beijing, promoted the world’s largest horticultural event in Beijing and invited countries in the South Pacific region to participate.
“China attaches great importance to the cooperation with countries in the South Pacific in the fields of tourism, trade and infrastructure construction. The two sides have great development potentials since the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative was advocated. The horticultural event will provide opportunities for bilateral exchanges and cooperation in horticultural and trade sectors. We hope countries in the South Pacific, such as Fiji can participate in the exhibition. CCPIT is willing to work with trade promotion agencies in the region to encourage companies to visit the show,” said Wang Jinzhen, CCPIT Vice Chairman.
Meanwhile, Wang Jinzhen also paid visits to Fiji Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat in Suva.
President of Fiji Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peter Mazey, hailed the Expo 2019 Beijing as an impetus to promote cooperation between Fiji and China in infrastructure construction, tourism, legal services, pure water, coconut products, etc. He said Fiji Chamber of Commerce and Industry is willing to cooperate with CCPIT to finalize the participation of Fijian government in the Expo.
A Memorandum of Understanding, dedicated to promoting trade between China and South Pacific nations, was signed between CCPIT and Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat as well as between CCPIT and Fiji Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Suva.
