CCPIT Vice Chairman Wang Jinzhen met with Governor of Pavlodar Region Bulat Bakauov, and Kazakhstan Vice Minister of Agriculture Gulmira Issayeva in Astana on July 7.
Wang and the two Kazakh officials agreed to further regional cooperation in energy and agriculture between China and Kazakhstan.
Wang conveyed his gratitude for Bakauov and Issayeva’s participation in the opening ceremony of Shanxi Week, saying that the agreements for China-Kazakh key projects amounting USD 27 billion have been finalized. There are huge potentials for cooperation in all sectors between the two sides. Wang hoped the two countries can deepen mutual understanding through the 2017 Astana Expo and foster bilateral cooperation.
“Pavlodar Region has an abundance of power resources and its power price is comparatively lower. The sufficient power for large industry and enterprises can be quite attractive to foreign companies. Currently, the large-scale trans-regional power transmission project is undergoing. Through the project, we can transmit the surplus of power to the neighboring regions. What is more, we have plenty of talents in technology.” said Bakauov.
Issayeva noted, Pavlodar Region and Shanxi share similar climate conditions, which is conducive to cooperation in agriculture.
Prior to the meeting, the two officials, accompanied by Wang, visited the China Pavilion.
