China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and China Eastern Airlines have vowed to foster strategic cooperation in air passenger transport, air logistics transport, air tourism and exhibition, trade and investment promotion, commercial and legal services, consultancy and information services as well as business matching, relevant to China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative and “Go Global” Strategy for Chinese enterprises.
The cooperation intentions were finalized in a strategic cooperation agreement signed between CCOIC and China Eastern Airlines in Beijing on June 30.
“The cooperation agreement will enable CCOIC and China Eastern Airlines to make full use of their advantages in sharing business resources and better assisting Chinese enterprises in the internationalization process,” said CCOIC President Jiang Zengwei, who is also CCPIT Chairman.
President of China Eastern Airlines Liu Shaoyong noted, as one of China’s three largest state-owned airlines, China Eastern Airlines has a network of flights reaching 177 countries across the world. The airline company served more than 100 million passengers in 2016 and its business has been among the top ten around the globe. With the cooperation agreement, China Eastern Airlines can expand its international business by a large scale.
The two sides were also seeking cooperation potentials under the “Belt and Road” Initiative to contribute to the air transport business along the route.
