China Import Expo 2017, on the theme of “Innovative Development and Win-win Cooperation” kicked off in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province on May 17. The three-day expo brought more than 700 enterprises from 43 countries and regions which displayed cutting-edge technologies and latest products on intelligent manufacturing, environmental protection, consumer goods, etc. CCPIT Vice Chairman Zhang Wei addressed the expo. Also in attendance were Chen Zhenning, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, Fang Aiqing, Vice Minister of Commerce of China, Yi Xiaozhun, Deputy Director-General of WTO, and Long Guoqiang, Vice-President of Development Research Center of China’s State Council.
Zhang Wei noted, China Import Expo is an important trade event for China to implement import policies and for Jiangsu Province to boost outbound trade. CCPIT, together with CCOIC will cooperate with provincial governments and trade promotion agencies of other countries to create more business opportunities for Chinese and foreign enterprises.

The expo consisted of two exhibition areas, namely intelligent manufacturing and brand consumer goods. Apart from enterprises, delegates of trade promotion agencies and business associations from 19 countries and regions attended the expo, among which 12 came from those along the “Belt and Road” route, 4 from BRICS group. The exhibition and negotiation sections cover an area of 80,000 square meters.
